Overview
Seeking a Recreation Therapist to join our Behavioral Health team. An experienced therapist is needed to design and implement a variety of activity therapies to foster effective interactions, enhance coping skills, cognitive functioning, reality orientation and prioritizing independence in caring for self.
The successful candidate for the activities position will be energetic, passionate and creative.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Bachelor of Arts or Science degree from an accredited institution in therapeutic recreation or behavioral health related services. Master's degree preferred.
- Certification by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation required.
- Must demonstrate ability by education or training in treating people with mental/psychiatric illness.

Sojourn at Seneca is a comprehensive inpatient behavioral health hospital designed to meet the needs of older adults. The main goals of treatment are stabilization and to provide treatment to overcome current crisis, achieving personal growth in the process.
In collaboration with each patient's physician, our team of health care professionals designs an individual treatment program to address emotional and psychological health, as well as any outstanding physical and medical issues a patient is experiencing. Sojourn at Seneca's behavioral health program is specially designed to meet older adults' therapeutic needs, while offering a comfortable and welcoming environment during treatment.
