Overview

Psychiatric Consultation Position (Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner)Oneida Health - Oneida, NYWe are seeking a NY licensed psychiatrist or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for a part-time (2-4hrs/wk) consultation position. This work can be performed remotely.Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities -

  • Provides psychiatric consultation to primary care practices and their behavioral health collaborative care management team. This includes practitioners and licensed behavioral health professionals (i.e., LCSW, LMHC, LMSW).
  • Provides regularly scheduled (weekly) caseload consultation to behavioral health professionals. Case review consultations focus primarily on patients who are new to the caseload or who are not improving as expected under their current treatment plan. Case reviews may be conducted by telephone, video, or in person.
  • Be available to provide occasional ad hoc telephone consultations to primary care providers for very complex patients or challenging patient situations as available.
  • Work with behavioral health care managers to oversee the status and population health of their assigned patient caseload. A registry is utilized to track all assigned patients and prioritize patients for case review and treatment adjustment.
  • Recommend any treatment adjustments through the case review process or in ad hoc consultations, including medication recommendations and other interventions.
  • Advise on treatment for patients who may need more intensive or more specialized mental health care as appropriate.
  • Consultation can be provided remotely.
  • Hours required for availability vary from 2 to 4 hours per week.

Requirements/Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications -

  • Licensed psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner with current licensure in New York State
  • Ability to quickly synthesize medical and psychiatric data and formulate effective and evidence-based clinical recommendations
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting
  • Positive, flexible, and solution-focused attitude
